Meeting Someone Nearby: How to Stay Safe
Simple habits for tasks and pop-ups with people you don't know yet.
Secret World connects you with people nearby, and most of the time that means meeting someone new. A few simple habits keep it safe and easy for everyone.
Before you meet
- Agree on the details first. What the job is, when, where and the price. No surprises later.
- Keep the conversation in the app so there's a record of what you agreed.
- Look at who you're meeting. Check their profile before you go.
When you meet
- Meet in public when you can, especially the first time.
- Tell a friend where you're going and when you'll be back.
- Trust your gut. If something feels off, you can always walk away.
Money
- Settle payment the way you agreed, and don't hand over money for work that hasn't started.
- Never share passwords, bank logins or ID numbers with someone you meet through a task.
If something goes wrong
Report it in the app. Reports help keep people who don't play fair off the map for everyone else.
Good neighbors
Almost everyone on Secret World is just someone nearby trying to get something done or make a little extra. Show up when you say you will, do what you agreed, and treat people the way you want to be treated.
