Reading the Map: Tasks, Pop-Ups and Shops

Everything on Secret World is a pin. Here's what each kind means.

Reading the Map: Tasks, Pop-Ups and Shops

Secret World is a map of what's happening around you. Everything on it is one of three things, and each one does something different.

Tasks: earn money

A task is someone nearby who needs a hand: carrying boxes, a dog walk, setting up a table. Each task shows what needs doing, where, when and what it pays. If you're free, pick one up.

Pop-ups: find what's being sold

A pop-up is someone selling something near you right now: food, clothes, art, services. Pop-ups come and go, so the map shows you what's open around you, not what was there last month.

Shops: the stores on your blocks

Local shops are on the map too, so you can see what's around you in one place instead of searching store by store.

Closer first

The map is built around distance. What's close to you shows up first, because the best opportunity is usually the one you can walk to.

Take a look

Open Secret World and see what's around you right now. You might be surprised how much is going on within a few blocks.
